Optimal image size for Yoko Theme
-
Hello, I check YOKO theme documentation, they say:
The main column width is a maximum of 612 pixels wide with only one sidebar active.
The header is a suggested size of 1102 pixels wide by 350 pixels high. But actually, I inserted a bigger image in the main column, when entering that page and when I download that image, I found it has been resized to820px wide.
So, what are the real maximum and optimal sizes for the images in Yoko?
Thanks,
The 820px image Im talking about is here: http://acolombiantraveler.wordpress.com/countries-and-stories/finland/finland_visit1/

Hi there, that image looks like it’s 1102px wide to me:

https://cloudup.com/cxKLdJVixcDCould you let me know where you’re seeing 820px? Thanks!

Hi Kathrynwp,
Yes, I found header images go perfect if I pre-resize them to 1102px.
But I was talking about page-post content, I found 820px is the perfect size (despite YOKO says it is 612px), so I am using 820px for general images. Is YOKO documentation wrong? see ‘Quick Specs’ here: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/yoko/I also created another post, because when editing pages, the available space (in wide) for my writing, changes if I use the ‘distraction free full screen’, and when I go see my posted page, my post area is wider.
In consequence, what I saw in draft is now ‘shaked’, my pictures and sentences get messed, very inconvenient. Should I send a print screen? I dont think it happens only to me. -
Sorry, I forgot to post the other support forum post link, here it is:

Thanks for the clarifications. You’re absolutely right – the quick specs are wrong. :-)
I just adjusted them like so:
The main column width is a maximum of 820 with one sidebar active
The main column width is a maximum of 612 with both sidebars activeThanks for the heads-up.
I’ve marked your other thread for staff attention and another Happiness Engineer will help you out there.

Hi Kathrynwp, something important…
So the 612px value was wrong in the YOKO specs, the real value is 820px.
Please note that while editing pages in WP, the working area in the fullscreen “distraction free mode” is STILL 612px! so thats the error I talk about in my other support request:
In summary: there is a mismatch in the working area while editing pages, while using the distraction free and when finally posting the page. All three have different wide settings!
This image can´t be more clear:

Just a heads-up that each time you add a comment to an unreplied thread it pushes it farther down the support queue.
Please hang in there and someone will have a look – I’m closing this thread for now.
