Optimise picture size uploaded to the gallery

  Hello

  I am relatively new to blogging and Web stuff and haven’t realised that uploading pictures as they come directly from the camera might be a problem. Even though our blog has only a few posts, in terms of size we are over 50% of allowed MBs.

  I am looking for a plugin that would allow me to decrease the size of the already uploaded pictures in some smart way (by having a possibility to choose some/all pictures and decrease size by some % maybe?)
  Of course, without loosing the pictures captions and comments by users..

  The plugin could be even smarter and offer such a web optimisation possibility already when I am about to upload new pics. I guess Facebook does that automatically without asking.

  Maybe there are more users like me, I imagine this could also save some capacity on your disks :)

  If there is already a solution, please redirect me to the manual & sorry for asking a redundant question.
