option classic editor does not show anymore

  yes, I am glad. Mind you, that half Classic has some nice features, too. What I am missing most are the buttons to switch from visual to text and back. I like typsetting and arranging things my way, so I use those to buttons very frequently.

  Do you mean the two tabs at the top right side of the Classic Editor editing box, Visual and Text? If so, this is what I see when in the Classic Editor

  no, I dont see this. would be nice. I use windows 10 and an up to date chrome browser. Now, I got the screenshot.

  Sorry, I think I misunderstood. The OLD Classic editor is fine. it’s the newer, as shown in the screenshot.

  Your screenshot helped. That’s the Classic block, not the Classic Editor. :)

  To Edit the block content as HTML, highlight the block so that the block toolbar shows, then (1) click the three dots at the right side of the toolbar and then (2) Edit as HTML

  

  AFAIK, this process has not changed.

  Happy to help, but I’d suggest that if you have other questions about editing that you open a new forum thread. The issue you originally posted about here has been resolved.

  oioioi! It would be nice to have more distinguishable names, for the older folks. There was also a Gutenberg, but that seems to have disappeared.

  So, in this “new” Classic (a bit of a contradiction) block thing where I have to navigate through three clicks to get what I want, while before it was only one. A bit like Microsoft. In the old days, to switch off the computer, you hovered over power, the choices came up, and you hit the one you wanted, one click! Now, to perform the same action, it’s three clicks. Oh, that must be progress.

  Enough of my rambling. I expect my software to function, to be as efficient as possible, and logical in its operation. I love writing… I leave the visual/text switch cumbersomeness, as long as the “old” Classic works.
