Option in “Settings, Media” to make “Open image in new window” default.
-
A good summer to you!
I would like to suggest a checkbox in the Media part of Settings, which would add the ability to make images on the blog open in a new window, if clicked.
Currently this can be toggled by managing each posted image individually and selecting the Advanced Option related to opening images in a new window, but I imagine it would be quite handy to bypass that procedure by simply being able to set it as a default.
Would this be possible to implement?
In the meantime; a string of custom css adding the function would be appreciated, if anyone is sitting on something with the desired effect.
Best regards – Felix

CSS cannot add function, it only styles what is already there.
Also, people are getting more crabby about things opening new windows. On some site everything you click on opens a new tab or window and before you know it you can have 20 tabs or pages open. I know it certainly irritates me.
Just sayin’

It peeves me right off that anyone would be so arrogant as make my choices for me. I can’t wait for this practice to become a thing of the past.

Well, the choice HAS to be made by the blogger: open in same window or open in new window. It’s not as if blame for “making my choices for me” attaches to one choice but not the other.
Right click always allows you to select how you want the link to function
