Option to add photo not appearing in post with video

    Hi:

    I’ve used WP for years; have latest version for my site with blog and videos embedded. My post with an embedded video is “stuck” without an image, and there is no option on the bottom right to add featured image. My developer sees the option, but I do not. I have no trouble seeing it in a new post, or a post that doesn’t have a video.

    Thank you. What to do? I have clicked the refresh circle, but it doesn’t make a difference.

    The only sites I see on your @stephstphn WordPress.com account when I check on our end are listed here:

    – maycourse.wordpress.com

    However, that site seems to be one that has not been in use for almost 10 years at this point, and does not seem to match up with the site you are referring to in your question.

    Is it possible you created your site under a different login that we are not able to see?  What is the URL of the site you are needing help with?

    Happy to check in our system so we can take a closer look.

    Hi there,

    You are sure about the spelling of your URL? I tried to visit http://MindYourBodyTV.com but no site loaded for me, and that is not a domain name that appears to be registered in our system. Please do not share login info, the public URL to the site will be sufficient for now, thanks!

    Hmmm… that does not appear to work either. What I see when I try to visit:

    I can see that this was a domain that was registered at one time, but has not been a valid domain since 2017.

    You are referring to a different website URL instead?

    I am grateful for your help. I discovered that I needed to grant permission on my YouTube channel to allow embedding. Then I found “featured image” in the main dropdown body of the post. (Other people have it on the right?) My developer said it’s on the right. I copied the thumbnail from YouTube, and uploaded as featured image and it worked! Two steps.

    The site is now registered with another company. I appreciate you taking time to help me here, I truly do. Lots of posts asking lots of questions. I am not gifted with tech (too much L brain!). I get stuck.

    Thanks for letting us know you got it working. Your reply with the correct URL got caught in our spam filter, by the way, so my colleague couldn’t see it before.

    The site at https://mindyourbody.tv/ isn’t hosted with us on WordPress.com, but is instead using the open source version of WordPress at another hosting provider.

    That version of WordPress is made by the community over on WordPress.org, so should you need help with this particular site again in future, you can ask directly in their forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ – our ability to help with sites not hosted on our servers is very limited, so you’ll likely get help faster by going there directly instead :)
