  I would like to incorporate a feature into my blog where someone can hover over or click a word or sentence to see a side note or tangent on that word or topic (meaning the note itself would be hidden until clicked or hovered over). Is there any way to include a feature like this in my posts?

  Hello!

  That feature is known as a ‘tooltip’, and I’m not aware of any WordPress.com plugins or widgets that provide that function. It’s possible using custom CSS, but that would require a business plan.
