options update services

  When using a blog that is hosted on WordPress I find that the Options_Update Services feature is not there. It is there if I install WordPress on my server and install the update. I assume that if the blog is hosted on WordPress there is no update needed since I cannot FTP files to WordPress. Why is this feature missing?

  Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are using different software with a very different set of priorities, and staff does the updating so you’re right: the feature is missing because it is not needed.
