Options With WordPress?
-
This might seem a silly question, but I need to ask it. I am working on a project that might evolve into something bigger that I imagined, apparently. If it does get to that point and I cannot put the time into the technical aspect of the blog or it needs to become a more complex website technically, then what would be some options within WordPress? Thank you so much.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m not 100% sure of the question.
If you’re using .com then unless you’ve purchased the css upgrade there is no technical stuff.
If it’s the .org software you’re on the wrong forum.
If it’s more to do with writing the blog and getting help then you can add users to the blog.

Moving to wordpress.com DIY instructions are here.> http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org

I apologize for being so vague. I am not on .org and I if I would need to move the blog somewhere else due to no time to work on it with CSS or not, then how complicated is that if it was moved to WordPress.org or somewhere else where someone else can take it over? If I moved to .org, then I would have more responsibility in the technical side, correct? I am now in .com and I do have the time, but that might shift. I hope I was more clear.

@ediblemissionproject
I know you are not using a wordpress.ORG install at present. I just answered your domain mapping question in another thread. I posted links to both the DIY move to wordpress.ORG. which is not that difficult and to the paid guided move option.Yes moving to wordpress.org does require more skills. If you read this post I link to below you will find the step by step process that thesacredpath and I use as well as advice and information. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/11/06/setting-up-a-self-hosted-wordpress-org-install/

.ORG requires more technical work – I moved my site here to get away from the technical stuff. .ORG means that you are the support staff (or you pay someone to do the work for you, updating the software etc that is done for you here for instance).
You can always add more people to your site to help (just don’t add them as Admin’s as then they can trash the blog if they get upset at you) –
Author is a good class as they can write and edit their own stuff but can’t edit others work.

Thank you so much Auxclass and Timethief. If it did get to the point where I would need to pay someone, then I guess my question is… how experienced would one need to be do be self sufficient in .org?
-
Gosh I thought TSP and I already covered that in the post. We were both blunt and provided advice based on experience. I don’t want to gut that post and place all the content here. The bottom line is if a wordpress.com blogger cannot operate independently by searching and using support documentation, but instead strongly relies on Volunteer help and Staff help, then IMHO they are not yet ready to self host a wordpress.ORG install.

Maybe I am mixing .com and .org up. Timethief, I looked at your link that you provided:
http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/11/06/setting-up-a-self-hosted-wordpress-org-install/
and I see that I am not qualified at this point to be on .org with being a parent, working, etc. I am not worried about .com and I feel fine about the .com. But if it will be necessary to transfer to .org to expand what I need to do on the .com, then I suppose I would have to find someone with the list of qualifications that are listed at the link you provided, Timethief.
I apologize for the redundancy in my question. -
No problem. It’s important to make informed choices so you are happy with them. Best of luck to you. :)
