Orange bar next to post
-
Sometimes I see a small vertical orange bar to the left of the name of a post in the Posts and Pages window of a Stats page.
What does this orange bar mean? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
Can you provide a screen shot showing an example of a post title with the orange bar beside it? See the Making a Screenshot support page, including the section Sharing your screenshot.

Thanks. On my site the only posts or pages with an orange bar beside the title at Stats > Years > Stats for 2016 > View All, are those that were published in 2016.
-
Right, but in this situation, only one has the orange bar, though all were published in 2016.
Stats > Posts & Pages > View All

Yes, I see. I’ve no explanation for that. You may add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention. A staff member may be able to explain the discrepancy.

HI there,
In your last screen shot, you’re viewing the daily stats for 15 September 2016, not the year 2016. The date is showing right at the top of the screen shot. On that day only that one post was published, which is why you only see one post marked.
On the other screen shot you’re looking at the yearly view for all of 2016, so all posts published in the year are marked.
This differs whether you are looking at the daily, weekly, monthly or weekly view of your stats.
Note that with screen shots it’s better to take it of the entire browser window so we can also see the URL of the page where the screen shot was taken.

Hello kokkieh,
Thank you for your response.
I understand the function of the orange bar in the first screenshot, but I still do not understand it in this case:
Stats > Posts & Pages > View All
Screenshot3 -
I get it now. Thanks, kokkieh. The orange bar will indicate posts published on whatever specific date or within whatever time span you are presently looking at in the cumulative stats.
@yarynamykh,
The path you’ve given (Stats > Posts & Pages > View All) is incomplete, because the screenshot is of the September 15, 2016 stats. The path should be Stats > Days > Stats for September 15, 2015 > View All, and it appears that the page URL is incomplete as well. I don’t know how you could show the “view all” stats of a specific date without the date being included in the URL. On my test, the URL for the stats on that date ishttps://wordpress.com/stats/day/posts/songbook1.wordpress.com?startDate=2016-09-15 -
Correction:
The path should be Stats > Days > Stats for September 15, 2015 > Posts & Pages > View All…

I see it now, thank you very much for your help. For whatever reason, this browser shortens the URL when it is not selected manually. When I go to select the URL, then it shows the full URL (https://wordpress.com/stats/day/posts/yarynamykh.wordpress.com?startDate=2016-09-15).
