orange "new post" button constantly flashing but there are no new posts

  My Reader is constantly flashing the orange “new posts” sign, the number usually starting at 3 and going up to 18. However, there are no new posts. It is circulating the same ones from today over and over, including showing multiples of one of my posts. When i hit the “new posts” button, it goes away for a few seconds, the page refreshes itself to show posts i have already seen, and then it goes back to doing the same thing. I’ve updated my browser to Firefox because i was using old, outdated Internet Explorer before but i’m not sure what else to do. I’ve also refreshed the page multiple times and logged out and back in. Same thing.
