Orange notification in reader: 11 new posts

  Hello,
  I’m new to the blogging world, so please excuse me if my question is ridiculous… But I’ve searched for a couple of hours already and I can’t find anything.

  I received an orange notification on the top of my reader saying: 11 new posts. What does it mean? When I click on it, I get right back on the reader, but without the notification. I don’t have any followers according to my stats and I don’t follow any blog either. The list of my reader only shows articles I’ve written and video’s I published…
  I’m lost, so please, lighten my path :)

  it means that you received new comments and that you should be able to enable them

  Thank you so much for a such a quick response…
  Let me continue with my sillyness…
  After some small hour of research, these are the observations and hypothesizes I came up with.

  In my reader, when I watch under the “comments I made” section there’s only one comment I already enabled and responded to. But that’s it. I’ve checked if it was possible to comment on my blog in the settings of my dashboard. The function was already enabled.

  For the rest, I’ve no new comments. Could this 11 (then it became 17 new post) new posts be spam or something unwanted? Could that post be linked to facebook or vimeo or something? Or maybe these are post send by wordpress from other blogs that might interest me, but that are too old for me to read now, like it’s too late or something like that.

  Last thing, after a minute, the orange notification dissapears.

  Anyways, as you can see I’m still stuck…So if you can help me…that would be awesome.

  The orange note means that the blogs you subscribe to have a total of XX new Posts – click on the orange thing and those XX Posts will be displayed for you in the reader – your reader does not always load all the new Posts automatically

  Thanks. That seems logical.
  But…The thing is…I’ve never subscribed to any blog…except my own, by default I guess. So I unfollowed my blog. I think you solved my problem. I will confirm that later.
