Order of Authors

I’ve scoured the forums for over an hour searching for the remedy to this issue to no avail, so I am trying again.
Is it possible to change the order of the authors in the author widget, and if so, how do i do it?
I have tried removing all authors and adding them in the preferred order. I have changed usernames in case they were ordered alphabetically. I read on one staff response that the blog administrator always appears first (false, I’m second). After my efforts it seems that authors are listed in the order in which they joined WordPress. Forgive me I’m a millennial, #dumb.
I’m being selfish, but my friend who infrequently posts on the blog i run should not be listed before me.

I don’t believe there is away to change this but I could be wrong so I’ll tag this thread for a Staff response. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

I’m not aware of any way to do what you’re looking to do, and yet when I go to your site your Gravatar is the top one in the list. How did you manage to do that, if you don’t mind me asking? I’m definitely curious!
