Order of Emails from Contact Forms

  Hi,
  Why, when my carefully ordered contact forms are submitted, do the resultant emails arrive in a completely different order (thus confusing the recipient)? Is there a ‘logical’ order? Thanks. Clive.

  If you complete one yourself and submit it then you will see the result.

  Hi,
  Yes, I’ve done that, but was wondering why the order changes? And if there is a logic to the order change? And if there is a way to ‘force’ the order I designed?

  P.S. You will want to state very clearly what changes to the order were made so Staff know what you are talking about.

  Hi there,

  In general the results of the form will arrive in the order in which they were posted, however there are a few small quirks which was built in to the contact form in the first place which places certain field types at the top of a response. As a result, your message will have:

  1st: name
  2nd: email
  3rd: url
  4th: textarea
  5th: any other field types, in the correct form order

  There is no way to change that arrangement, I’m afraid.
