order of images in hatch theme

  hi all,
  I’ve recently changed my theme to hatch and have the following problem: my blog is about illustration and design and, therefore, I am displaying images in it, sometimes several in one post. I’ve noticed that ‘hatch’ is automatically picking the last image to represent the post on the dynamic page. Is there a way to change that? Specifically, I’d be looking to have the first image, rather than last, displayed.

  or even better: would it even be possible to choose the featured image for each particular post?
