Order of page appearance at top of blog?
-
Hi. How do I change the order of appearance of the pages on my blog/website? Every time I add a page the newest page shows first at the top left of the page. Thanks for your help! (Again :) )
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Joanna,
You can have full control over the order of pages (and which ones appear in the menu) by setting up a custom menu for your site: Custom Menus
Please let me know if you have any questions about setting that up! :)

Thanks, Rachel! Very helpful, as you’ve been since I started with all my questions. Much appreciated, as always.
One more question please: How can I eliminate the comments box at the bottom of each page?
Thanks again!

You’re very welcome, Joanna!
There are a couple places you can disable comments — one is in your site’s settings (which controls comment settings on new posts and pages you publish) and the other is on posts and pages you’ve already published.
This page has instructions for disabling comments in both of those places: Enable and Disable Comments
If you run into any trouble with that, I find that bulk editing is the quickest way to disable comments:
- Go to the Posts -> All Posts screen in your blog dashboard.
- Select the posts you would like to modify or check the box next to “Title” column at the top to select all posts on that page.
- Select Edit from the Bulk Actions drop down menu.
- Click the Apply button.
- Change the options for Comments and Pings to Do not allow.
- Click the Update button.
- Repeat with your Pages.
Please let me know if you have any other questions about that. :)

I finally figured out how to get rid of the comments box on all my pages–thanks again.
Hopefully one final question: any way I can get rid of the HOME page? Or is that a default?

Hi Joanna,
Do you want to get rid of the “Home” page in your menu, or completely change the home page that appears when you visit your site?
By default, your site will show your latest blog posts on the home page. If you’d rather, you can replace that with a static page of your choice. (You can then create a separate page on your site for your blog or just not have a blog on the site at all.) We have a guide for making that change here: Front Page
Let me know if that’s what you were looking for, or if you’re wanting a different sort of change. :)
