Order of Posts after editing an entry
-
I have four posts — day one, two, three, four. I edited Day two and when I saved it it moved to the latest post so now I have from recent to first… day two, day four, day three and day one. How to I re-order these posts? And how do I keep it from happening again?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Blogs are essentially a reverse chronological order publishing tool and you cannot change this order on a free hosted WordPress.com blog. Posts will be posted to your blog in accord with their date stamps at publication. WordPress by default shows posts in reverse chronological order (newest post on top). For returning visitors, this is very convenient since they can see the latest post without having to page down through page after page of hundreds of posts they have already read.
Every post has the date embedded into the URL and when you edit and change the date stamp on any post and click “update” what you do is break the original link so when the original URL is clicked that’s the error message you see is a 404 (page not found). http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/08/05/avoid-creating-404-pages/
If your posts are not displaying in reverse chronological order and you did not change the date stamp then check your date and timezone and reset if required on this page > Settings > General
If that’s not an issue then you could have a sticky posts issue. Simply remove the sticky designation. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts

Thank you! Lesson learned… don’t indicate chronological order in your title! I am loving wordpress, but I’ve got some learning to do. Thanks again. Now to change my titles. :-)
