Order Trouble

I recently created a few new posts on my blog, and for some reason, they are not in order, the newest one is on the top, then the second and third newest ones are on the bottom of the page below a lot of old posts, and one of the oldest posts are close to the top. Is there a way to organize my posts in order by date? So that the newest posts are at the top of the page and the oldest posts are at the bottom.

Blogs are essentially a reverse chronological order publishing tool and you cannot change this order on a free hosted WordPress.com blog. Posts will be posted to your blog in accord with their datestamps at publication. WordPress by default shows posts in reverse chronological order (newest post on top).
If your posts are not displaying in reverse chronological order then check your date and timezone and reset if required on this page > Settings > General
If that’s not an issue then you could have a sticky posts issue. Simply remove the sticky designation. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts

Hi, I have much the same problem – posts aren’t showing up in reverse chronological order – they’re mixed up. I had made my original post a sticky, but I removed that sticky and interestingly that post still shows up at the top. Then, I reset my time zone. Neither helped. I should also mention that I have a static front page with posts showing up on a page titled ‘blog posts’. Any help would be appreciated. My blog is at: powerofpraiseband.wordpress.com

Hmmm, I just checked the privacy settings and it’s set to allow search engines to index the site. Isn’t that public? What else do I have to check?

What I see when I click your username is a privacy blox for log-in:
http://thirdactmusic.wordpress.com/ is marked private by its owner. You can:
Request access to view the site. We’ll send your username to the site owner for their approval.
Log out and sign in as different user. You’re logged in as ‘timethief’.

Okay, that’s the name of a different blog. What would cause you to get directed to that one instead of powerofpraiseband.wordpress.com?

Your username is linked to that blog which designates it as your “primary” blog. Here’s how to link your username to your blog in your blog Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Primary Blog‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.
Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

Note that the date of publication is embedded in each post URL.

Thanks for the heads up. I appreciate the help. Obviously, I’m, trying to learn my way around wordpress.com. Okay, I just changed the primary to powerofpraiseband.wordpress.com.
But, when I go to the comments page, all of the posts (9) are there and in the right order. What have I done wrong that only my initial post shows up?

Blog posts are not found on your Comments page they are found here > Dashboard > Posts > All Posts

Okay, I don’t have the terminology down yet and hence my error was one of misunderstanding and therefor stating the problem incorrectly. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll do a little more research. Thanks.

Thanks, I’ll check out the tutorial. BTW, I just trashed that one post and all of the comments went with it. Hadn’t intended that. Is there any sort of ‘revert’ feature from trashed?
