Ordered premium upgrade, trying to get my money back.

    Hello,

    I upgraded from basic to premium using PayPal credit, and subsequently disputed the charge because I was told ecommerce comes with that, which it does not, so I wanted to get my money back as I would probably have to upgrade to a business account later.

    After I disputed, WordPress removed ALL of my privileges, and returned my account to basic (pretty sure some things are messed up as well- I am not able to enter the settings for my blog, says “you are unauthorized”), and I am now not able to get ahold of anyone due to there not being a way to contact WP directly for a refund.

    In addition, PayPal can’t do anything because it’s a virtual purchase, and now that I have been downgraded to a basic account, I am basically out 76 dollars.

    I went to “my upgrades” to dispute it directly through WP, but since they downgraded me, there is NOTHING in that section! I went to my billing history and the charge is there, but I have nothing to show for it!

    I am dissatisfied with WordPress.com to say the least, and find it quite annoying that such a huge company doesn’t offer any sort of support (not to mention, I should HAVE the support, but don’t because they removed my privileges!).

    The “Support” options for my problem are as follows:

    1. If you have a paid upgrade, please use the “Contact Support” form, where you will receive a choice of having staff answer your question publicly or privately.

    2. If you do not have a paid upgrade, please post your question in our community forums.

    Since they have removed my upgrade, I am forced to do use the second option…which is what I am doing.

    When you dispute a charge with PayPal rather than contacting us for a refund (which we would have been happy to give you) your funds are locked by PayPal for the duration of the dispute process, which means I’m not able to process your refund at this time.

    If you are still able to reverse the dispute with PayPal, that block is lifted, at which time I would be more than happy to refund your payment.
