Ordering widgets (1, 2, 3…)

I’d like to add a text widget with a photo within. However, I want it to appear at the top of the sidebar. Is there a way to change the order of the widgets?

Select the widgets you want and then just drag and drop to rearrange them in the order you’d like them to appear.

I have a related question – how do I order the links on my blogroll? (I tried searching FAQ and Forum and didn’t find anything that addressed this.) I tried “Rating” the links (0-9) and then under Manage – Links choosing “Order by Rating” and it seemed unchanged. Granted, I only have two links right now but they are stubbornly remaining in alphabetical order. (I’m trying to get M to come before L, in this case. But basically I’m wanting to arrange them, as the list grows, into a “most favorite to least favorite” type of scheme – so I think “rating” them is how to do this, in theory anyway). The only thing that got them to change to the order I wanted was when I told it to “Order by Link ID” (not sure what that is) and in my Dashboard screen, the order changed – but it still remained unchanged on my blog when I went in preview mode. There does not appear to be an option under Manage – Links to “Save changes” or “Update” so I’m not sure how to know that the changes go through. I clicked on “Filter” once or twice in case that meant “OK, now sort it by the way I’m telling you” but that didn’t seem to do too much either – and in any case, only affected the order they were displayed in Manage – Links and not on my blog itself. Hoping someone can help. Thanks!

@ writing, how about putting a number in front of them?
    1) Mary
    2) Larry

diamondfist – Thanks. That method definitely helped. I think I have bigger questions, though, so I’ll start a new thread. Thank you!

@writingreading: another trick some use is putting period “.” in front of the link title. the punctuation marks show up ahead of the alphabetically listed links in a blogroll. ..
Handy if you have one link that you want first over the rest of them.
