.org and .com but same domain: can I delete my blog on .com?
-
Hello. I have created my blog (mezzinudi.com) using wordpress.com, then I moved it into wordpress.org using siteground. The old one, on wordpress.com, appears to be still alive (I’ve got their email saying I should renew my domain, otherwise it’ll be back mezzinudi.wordpress.com). Can I delete the old one keeping mezzinudi.com on wordpress.org? How can I make it? Thanks in advance
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Renew the domain name mezzinudi.com – or your .ORG install will crash – or you can move registrars
don’t delete mezzinudi.wordpress.com – you need an active blog to manage your registration – and to display the stats if you are using JetPack – – however you can set mezzinudi.wordpress.com – so nobody can see the content and you don’t have duplicate content showing on the internet
You do not need to renew the domain mapping

Thanks auxlcass. What do you mean by “renew the domain name”? I can’t change it. How can I set mezzinudi.wordpress.com in order to hide the content? Thanks again!

You currently have domain mapping and domain registration – you do not need the domain mapping since you have moved – but you do need domain registration for mezzinudi.com or your .ORG install will break
Dashboard >> Reading >> Visible to only those I choose
I have also flagged this for the staff in case you need more assistance

Hi @skaiosgaio. :)
The information given by @auxclass is right: Your domain is still registered through WordPress.com but it’s pointed towards your hosted site at SiteGround. You’ll therefore have to renew the domain through WordPress.com in order to keep it active. If you’d prefer, you can transfer your domain to SiteGround and keep everything in one place. We have a guide on transferring domains here:
