.org .com hosting, etc. UGH
-
Alright I made a post with part of my question but I’m going to put it all together here because I have a few questions and am becoming frustrated and confused.
Alright, I purchased a domain from wordpress.com along with domain mapping – $15.00 deal.
My site is http://www.imconnections.com
I have my own hosting already but when you purchase that package does wordpress host your site for you or do you still need to use your own hosting? How long does it take them to set it up if they host it? I’m ready to roll here folks!
Next – apparently I need to download wordpress.org to be able to upload themes, etc? Is this correct? If WordPress does provide hosting when you purchase the domain + domain mapping – do you still need to use your own hosting instead to upload wordpress.org software so that you can upload themes, etc?
Please explain this to me; I’m ready to move and simply can’t find GOOD info on this site about these questions.
Any help will be greatly appreciated; and any links to help out with this stuff will be appreciated too.
Should really be more detailed explanations of this stuff in the FAQ WordPress.

….and if I have to use my hosting do I have to move the domain over there (godaddy is what i use?) or can I leave it here and just use my hosting for uploading stuff? ugh

I answered you in the other thread. Just to remind you:

Thanks =) I don’t think it answered my ? on whether I had to install .org to upload themes. I figured that out and am going to answer it here just in case others have this question in the future.
Yes, you have to install wordpress.org to be able to upload themes, etc.
