.org to .com

    I have run a semi-successful blog for many years, but now I write on it VERY seldomly. People still access it daily and I do not want to lose all the posts I’ve written so I’d like to convert it to the .com site (so I will no longer have to continue paying hosting and other fees). I can find a lot of articles on how to convert .com to .org – but none the other way around. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi there,

    WordPress.com published some resources to help site owners to move their self-hosted WordPress sites to WordPress.com.

    Something to take note:
    The Export and Import tools for migrating your sites will only help to move your contents (posts, pages, tags, categories) over. You may need to manually download and upload the images to WordPress.com.

    For instance, any plugins and custom themes installed on your self-hosted WordPress site will not be migrated over. And to use plugins and custom themes on WordPress.com sites, you need an upgraded Business Plan.
