website is having connectivity issues with Word Press. Receiving many messages a day from Jetpack notifying site is off line, then immediately receiving message saying it is back on line. This happens more than 10 times a day. It is impacting connections with Word Press. Can anyone help me? I am 80 years old and not savvy with IT at all. Thank you.

Best solution is to disable the uptime/downtime monitor in Jetpack – https://jetpack.com/support/monitor/

Hi there,
I took a look at your site http://www.thequietplacenc.org/ and confirmed that it’s hosted with Dreamhost (a different company), not WordPress.com (us). You’ve reached WordPress.com forums.
Since the site isn’t hosted with us, we can’t fix the issue directly, but I can point you in the right direction so you’re not left without help.
You’re receiving those “site down / back online” notifications from Jetpack because Jetpack is detecting real downtime on your site. Turning off Jetpack’s uptime monitor will stop the notifications, but it won’t resolve the underlying issue – your site going offline multiple times a day. Because your hosting provider controls your site’s server, the best next step is to contact Dreamhost support and let them know what you’re seeing. You can reach them here: https://www.dreamhost.com/support/
If you’d prefer a hosting environment with very high uptime (99.999% uptime) and direct access to support any time, you’re always welcome to explore moving your site to WordPress.com. We can even assist with the migration and more details are here: https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-an-entire-wordpress-site/
If it’s helpful, this guide explains the difference between WordPress.com (us) and self-hosted WordPress.org sites (like yours at Dreamhost): https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
I hope this helps you get things sorted. If you have any follow-up questions, feel free to ask.
