Organising Blog on separate pages
-
I’ve got quite a lot of content on my site now and want to manage it by organising the pages in themes. I’ve created a new page but it goes to the usual blogger page. Is there any way I can put previously written blogs on this new page?

I’m not absolutely clear about what you are asking.
(1) You can import previous Blogger blogs into the one you have here. Please check the forum search box for threads on the subject and note that this process does not always go as smoothly as one would desire.
(2) You can establish as many pages as you choose but only one will be an automatically updating “posts page”. A look is worth a thousand words – dashboard -> options -> reading -> front page displays (notice the options presented here)
(3) You can also create a page that becomes a “site index” but again it will not be automatically oupdating http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/11/how-do-i-make-a-site-index/
If these points do not address your problem then please do not “shoot the messenger”, instead post again being as explicit as possible about what it is that you want to achieve. :) -
Dan, Pages are seperate articles that sit outside of the normal Post structure and do not have dates nor date time stamps. They are not connected with your Posts. They are seperate.
As you write new Posts, your older Posts will be pushed back into their own pages after a while.
Hope this helps,

Thanks Dr Mike. I created an index page. Main main worry was that I was creating so many categories that I wanted people to group to make sense of them.
Think it’s much clearer now.
Cheers

I’m in the same position when it comes to having far too many categories in my environmental blog. As soon as I have the time I will be creating a site index and taking the category widget out of the sidebar. -
So, just to clarify. There is no way to create another page to post as you would on the homepage of the blog, is this correct? For example, I want to post in English on my main page and then have a separate page of posts in Spanish. But I guess the second page would be a category? Thanks for your help if any decides to get back! JB.

I agree with tarboxroad.
I want a page that shows news blog posts. because i have plenty of articles, but i want to be able to make my homepage a filtered blog only showing those news blog posts, so that it isn’t cluttered. -
You can do it with regular wordpress from http://wordpress.org but not the install that we have here as we’re running on a different platform with shared coding. Only work around that I can think of is marking those posts with a specific categeory that you want as seperate and making note of that special category with adding the link into your sidebar.

ok well, I plan on actually switching to that, so I guess my problem will be solved when that happens.
