Organize posts on Pages

I’m writing a technical advice blog, so I want my posts organized on pages that don’t roll with each new post. I would also like followers notified of each new post as usual. Can I either:
    a) write a new post for my home page (by date, rolling) and have it copied to the appropriate page, or
    b) write an entry on a static page and have it also appear on my home page ?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    a) write a new post for my home page (by date, rolling) and have it copied to the appropriate page, or
    b) write an entry on a static page and have it also appear on my home page ?

So what you can do is create Category Pages and add those pages to your Custom Menu. This will allow you to have pages separated by categories. Then posts in those categories will be the only ones that show up on that page.

Take a look at the links for further instructions on the set up.

    Cheers!

That’s great, Grace. It’s as easy as I hoped. Thanks.

If I’m reading the help correctly, to create new category pages, I just add the new category to a post and then add the new category to my menu. That creates a new page and I arrange it in order in my menu; have I got that right?

Also, I can copy the post to multiple pages by just adding more categories to the post, right?

    Yes!

Exactly. As long as you have the category pages added to your custom menu the posts will show up on every page that it belongs in.
