organizing blog pages

Hello,
Is there a way of organizing my blog pages in a certain order? I’ve looked for a tool to do so and cannot find one.
Thanks,

In my last themes there has been a way to assign a numerical order to the pages–it’s a little obscure to find but it is somewhere in there in the editing screen for the page. (I have Bueno now, Mistylook before, but can’t remember if it had the same process…I just know I got the tabs in the order I wanted somehow.)

assign a numerical order to the pages-
That numerical ordering is here and it’s not theme specific > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-attributes/#order
However, like thesacredpath has said a custom menu is the superior approach by far. Moreover, if you do assign page order in the page attributes module first and then create a custom menu, then you have to be sure the numerical order is consistent between the two or you will have problems. The easier way is not to assign numerical page order at all and to only create a custom menu.

Me too! I guess I’d better look into the custom menu option…That page numbering system for organizing the standard menu is not very friendly, I have to admit. If you want to add a page and insert it in the middle of other pages, you have to go in one by one to the pages that come after it and renumber them all…

To avoid that problem if you use page order numbers, it’s better to number your pages as 10, 20, 30 etc instead of 1, 2, 3 etc.
