Organizing headings
-
I’m new; I’m missing something. Where and how do I control things like sidebar headings. On my site http://gulfshoressteven.wordpress.com/ I have one at the top called “Sermons” but not all my sermons are there and I don’t know how to move them to there. I’d like “About Me” to be another heading, but it’s under “Sermons” – why?
If I wanted another heading with a collection of posts beneath it, how do I do that? -
That Sermon appears to be a static page, and that group appears to be your Pages widget. That’s not what you want. You want to do them all as posts, and use the category or tag “Sermons” for them and put the category widget in your sidebar. That will work the way you want.

Go to design > widgets and click the “edit” button on the pages widget and in there you can change the title of the widget back to pages.

Thanks. So, if I categorize a post as “sermon” or “notes” will it eventually show up in a list on the sidebar under that category heading? Will it be visible on the opening page?

Yes, and yes, if it’s new enough not to have gotten pushed off the main page. And if you have the Category widget in your sidebar.
