Organizing new posts

All of my new posts show on the main page. How do I move them to specific categories/
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

First off we need a link to the blog. The site linked to your username is not a wordpress.COM blog.

All your posts are categorized as “weekly rants,” so they are already in that category. Clicking on a category name in the categories widget will bring up a list of posts only in the category selected.
All posts in all categories, will be displayed on the main blog page in reverse chronological order. There is no way to change that if that is what you are talking about.
Perhaps though if you explain what exactly you want, there is a way to achieve it, but I need more detail from you.

Unfortunately, I think you’ve answered my question. I do not want all posts to display on the main blog page. But I have checked other blogs and they have only one post on their main page.

Go to settings > reading and you can set the number of posts to show on the blog pages to whatever you want. That setting will also effect the categories pages also though, so if you set it to one, only one post at a time will show on the categories pages.

As sacredpath said, all posts appear chronologically — newest first — at the blog’s main site. You can set the number that will be displayed at one time, and you can make one a sticky so it’s always first, but that’s all the control you have. Posts can’t be selectively stashed away in separate Pages. Pages don’t function as junior blogs; they’re essentially stand-alone posts, used for stuff like “About me,” that you want to keep apart from the general sequence of posts.
The best way — certainly the easiest way — to sort posts for your readers is to assign appropriate Categories to them, and then use the Categories widget so related posts can be easily located.
