Organizing Tags
-
Hey,
I am looking to clean up my website and the first thing I want to fix is the tags. I use to throw in as many relevant tags as I can but realized I can use them to keep things (posts) organized. I also want to capitalize most of my tags to be more uniform. Is there a way I can do this or do I have to manual go into posts and change this? Even by going manually, can I delete a tag that has already been established?
Thanks,
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
You can manage all of your site’s tags from the WP Admin dashboard, under Posts > Tags there. Here’s a direct link to that section of your site’s dashboard:
https://sneakerchamploo.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=post_tag
From there, you can edit all of your tags (to change things like capitalization) or delete tags you no longer want to use.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

Thanks,
I didn’t look hard enough and the editing works great. The real problem I think I have is creating a map of my categories/tags and so on… Would you have any advice on how to create a conventional way to organize a website map? At the moment I use categories for my main menus and tags just for SEO (forgot about using them to organizing the posts). If anything, I need to read up on some guides and resources. If you have any helpful guides you can refer me to, that would be great.
Thanks again.

If you’ve been using Categories for navigation purposes and Tags for SEO keywords, you’d probably be well served by just using our Sitemap Shortcode:

But there are a couple other ways WordPress uses sitemaps explained here. Including that an XML sitemap is automatically created for search engines here:
