Original header needed

  • Unknown's avatar

Selected “Day Dream” theme and typed blog title text into header, but text was misaligned. I could not fix it so deleted text and replaced original header with photo. Tried to go back to original header but won’t work. Need to know how to align text on it.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Appearance > Headers
You can upload a custom header image to be shown at the top of your site instead of the default one. On the next screen you will be able to crop the image.
Images of exactly 527 × 273 pixels will be used as-is.

    re: aligning text
If you use you own image you can align the text on it when you create the image. Then you can choose this on that same Header page:
    Display Text
    __No __Yes

Otherwise the text will be aligned in accord with the underlying code in the template. We cannot edit templates or themes.

I did previously read about uploading a custom header image, which, as I said, I did just that. I needed to be able to load the original header for “Day Dream” back on after taking off the custom one I had uploaded. I can’t do that. I tried re-activating the theme, to no avail.
Yes, I knew I could align text on a photo before uploading it, but why allow the adding of text to the original image if some of it cannot be aligned properly? I wrote the text on the original image, which I cannot now reload,
I am grateful for your help, but I see now blogging is not as simple as it sounds.

I loaded my test blog with DayDream and found good news for you. Ho here please and never ever be reluctant to click every button there is under Appearance > Theme Options

    Theme Options
    Title

    _Left Align (default)
    _Centre
    _Right Align

    Colour Schemes

Blue Blue Green Green Pink Pink Grey

I tried re-activating the theme, to no avail.

When the theme is already on our blog it does not appear in the selection here > Appearance > Themes

As for reloading the original header image, you go to Appearance>Header and click “Restore Original Header Image”.

Everything seems to be working today, thank you both. Please view the header 2c if you can suggest a fix for it.

There’s no fix (not without the paid Custom Design upgrade, that is): the theme is too narrow and your blog title and tagline are too long for it. I suggest you look for a different theme. You can read about them and see them in action ere:

I thought there might be a fix by changing the code. After all, it only needs to move up a little.

Okay, I’ll have to live with that limitation until some able person can do better by it. I will try something different for now.

Again, I appreciate your willingness to help. Thank you both.

“I thought there might be a fix by changing the code. After all, it only needs to move up a little.”

Yes, and we can give you that code, but as I already said it will only work if you buy the Custom Design upgrade.
