Original Tags?

  Hello,

  Can you make up tags for your blog, tags not listed on the WP front page? That is, if you want to attract visitors from a certain country because you have content that might interest those visitors, can you add a tag that says “Canada” or “UK,” and will it work?
  This question would apply to other subject tags like “French literature” instead of just “literature?”

  Within your blog and on your posts, you can use any tags you want. One word of caution though, keep the total number of tags + categories under 12. Example 2 categories + 10 tags = 12 or 4 categories + 8 tags = 12. WordPress had to put a limit on the number of tags + categories that you can use and still show up on the global tags pages because people were taking advantage of the system and trying to “game” it. In one instance, a person was putting the same 100 tags on each post whether they were appropriate or not. So blame the limit on the tag spammers.

  Also, go to users > your profile and take the ” wp-admin/profile.php ” off of the end of your blog URL there so that it reads ” http://hudowen.wordpress.com/ ” .
