  I’m trying to make my website. I have my Domain at Register.com – where I’d prefer to keep it, so my 3 domains are in the same place. When I go to Create a Website on WordPress (I want it to be the pro level) it appears I have to transfer the domain to WordPress. Am I reading that correctly???

  You can transfer a domain to WordPress.com but you don’t have to. If you upgrade your eatplaypub.wordpress.com site to a paid plan you can then use the domain credit you will be supplied with to map your existing custom domain to the WordPress.com site.
