Origin/Nexus Theme – Landscape to Portrait on home page grid.

    Hi,
I was hoping you could help me, we purchased a premium theme called Nexus, it still says Nexus in our themes but now when I search for it the theme comes up under the name Origin…it’s very confusing.
This is the website for the theme you can’t see it live on our blog because we have a redirect to a landing page:
    http://www.elegantthemes.com/gallery/origin/
My question is, is it possible to change the orientation from landscape to portrait with code in the editor? With php?
If so how can we do it?
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
    Best wishes
    Kat

Sorry that’s for the home page grid…thanks

  • I verified the theme running on fridafredadotnet.wordpress.com and it is indeed Nexus.

Where are you searching for the theme?

You’ll find the Nexus theme showcase page on WordPress.com here:

    https://wordpress.com/themes/nexus

    The support page is here:

    https://wordpress.com/themes/nexus/support/

The Nexus support forum, where the developer will help you directly, is here:

This page – http://www.elegantthemes.com/gallery/origin/ – is not for WordPress.com users, it’s for folks running a self-hosted WordPress site, where the software is installed on their own server.

My question is, is it possible to change the orientation from landscape to portrait with code in the editor? With php?
If so how can we do it?

Nexus is a responsive theme which adjusts the layout automatically for different devices. I’m not quite sure what you’re trying to accomplish when you talk about changing the orientation, but if you can explain your goal in more detail I can try to help.

    Thank you!

On the front page is a grid of images. You click on an image and it leads to to a blog page.
Question is – can the orientation of the individual grid images be changed to portrait rather than landscape?
Or even can the dimensions of the individual grid images be adjusted to any other dimensions?

    Thank you!

  • Ah, thanks for explaining! I don’t see an option to change the orientation of images on the blog page from landscape to portrait – that looks like something that can’t be changed. The theme’s documentation specifies:

Images with a width to height ratio of 4×3 are ideal. For example, an 800×600 image would fit perfectly into the post grid. Images that are of a different ration will be cropped to fit.

If you have any other questions about Nexus in the future, I’d suggest asking the theme’s developer directly in the Nexus forum, as they know the theme best
