orphan blog – transfer gone wrong

    Hello,
I few years ago I started a blog for my band “The Dodgy Characters”, at http://www.reverbnation.com/thedodgycharacters‎. I tried to transfer that blog to a fellow user but something went wrong with the transfer and neither he nor I could log into it to edit.
Eventualy we gave up and started another blog for the band ddgy.wordpress.com. This works ok except that the original, (and now several years out of date) blog still gets found by people searching for the band. How can we delete the old, out of date blog?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • You are going to need to talk to the support team at reverbnation. WordPress.com support can’t really do much for you regarding a reverbnation site.

Hi I quoted the reverbnation site by mistake – it should have been http://thedodgycharacters.wordpress.com/ . This is is wordpress site, several years out of date which is either orphaned or accidentally transferred to I don’t know who.
    To be clear:
http://thedodgycharacters.wordpress.com was a site created by me that I can no longer control as something went wrong with transferring to a friend for maintenance – he can definitely not see it.
It is identical to my CURRENT wordpress site ddgy.wordpress.com except that it is years out of date.
My apologies for the address error in my original post – this is nothing to do with reverbnation.

  • If you cannot remember the login information for a WordPress.com account, your best bet is to try the account recovery process here:

    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

Due to the private nature of information required for account recovery and the public nature of these forums, we cannot help with account recovery here.

If you transferred the site and the transfer went wrong and did not go to your friend, staff-ozmodiar might be able to reverse the transfer for you and return it to the original account.

But you would need to ask specifically for that to be done and then he would need to check and see what happened with the transfer.

Sometimes people will make a spelling error and the blog will be transferred to a non-existent account or to the wrong account
