Orphaned Pages
-
roedeo, what blog are you referring to?
theo48, when I go to http://theo48.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-pages.php, I don’t see any pages that are orphaned. If they were they would be under a section at the bottom for orphaned. Can you give a specific example of what the problem you now see is?
-
No, they are not listed as “orphaned” any more under edit-pages, this secttion is gone now. These pages are IN THE WRONG PLACE on the MAIN PAGE, NOT next to WHAT I DEFINED as their parent page. So they are in the wrong section of the pages list (at the very bottom). EXAMPLE: The vistor lookes at “islands”, searching for Thassos Island, but the “Island Thassos” page is somwhere else, AND “Island Thassos” is PARENT-PAGE to 4 other sub-pages, and they are somewhere else as well … that means, the vistor will be a bit confused … well, sometimes it would be easier to be on the Phone with support … :-) …

Hi foolswisdom, an hour ago I sent a mail (Re: [WordPress #OGB-816106]: orphaned pages) to support, explaining that strange problem. Maybe you could check it? Theo

Rodeo – having the same problem with the same theme. Can’t get any sub-pages to show up on main pages. I’ve tried putting up new pages and then linking my sub-pages to the new test main page and it won’t work. Can only see pages from the tabs on the home blog site.
This just happened for no identifiable reason. Things were fine and then suddenly *poof* all sub-pages were off the site. They’re still there in the manager and show that they’re published, but you can’t access them from my blog. I was told to go to support with the problem, but they’re “closed” at the moment. Hard to imagine that a bunch of volunteers are going to care about my little problem, but we’ll see. I’d think they have better things to do.

secretwave101, sorry, I don’t quite follow what you mean. The menu used to include all of the pages? Including sub-pages? that sounds awkward. This sounds like a different issue and the discussion would be easier to follow if in its own topic.

@foolswisdom
For continuity you may want to refer to the thread where I tried to help secretwave101 with his problem https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=15225 -
secretwave101, we’ve identified an issue where we aren’t respecting the themes experience for showing sub-pages and are working on resolving it.
-
@foolswisdom
Please note that this blogger is not alone. There are others who have orphaned pages, disappearing sub-pages and parent pages that no longer automatically supply links to sub-pages as they did previously.

Rodeo, secretwave101, that issue should now be resolved. If you are still seeing it or related issues please contact support.

@tsp
I smell apple sauce simmering in my kitchen. And yes, I’ve been noticing the upgrading breakage these last 2 days too. :) -
