Hi there,
The image also needs to be added directly to your portfolio page.
To do this, head to the editor for a given portfolio page and then use the “Add Media” button above the toolbar to upload the image. From here, align the image to the right using the “Align Right” tool in the editor’s toolbar.
Let me know how you get on with that or if extra questions come up.

thanks for your help! i sturggled to find my forum topic to reply! sorted that now :-) the problem im currently having is wanting to either have a portfolio front page link link to a “page” as opposed to a “portfolio page” or altering the css within that specific page to make it full width instead of squeezing the text into the narrow column on the left hand side, as this particular page would work better without a big image on the right hand side any ideas? :-)

It’s not possible to link a portfolio project to a regular page. If you use portfolio projects they automatically link to the individual portfolio project.

Orvis does something special with images in portfolio projects, displaying them in a special way. This technique uses JavaScript and isn’t possible to override with custom CSS.
You can see the intended effect on the demo site:
https://orvisdemo.wordpress.com/portfolio/oysters/As you can see, this layout works best with small amounts of text, rather than the long dummy text you have in your site. If you’ll have a lot of text, you might want to choose a theme that doesn’t do what Orvis does on single project pages.
Hope this clarifies and if you need help finding an alternative theme that works better for your needs, just let me know.
