Orvis theme – gallery thumbnail size

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,
I am using the Orvis theme and want to make my project site look like the Orvis demo site (https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/orvis/), that is: a combination of thumbnails with alternating landscape and portrait pictures and thin frames in between. In order to do so I choose ‘orvis-project-thumbnail’ as size in the gallery menu.
The problem i now have is that most of my pictures are landscape and I would like to crop half of these pictures for the thumbnail site in order to allow for the alternating structure landscape/portrait.. On the single attachment sites these pictures are then supposed to be shown in their original landscape format.
Unfortunately Orvis project thumbnail doesnt seem to allow a distinction between the thumbnail and the attached image, so it’s either all landscape or all Portrait.

Does anyone know a way around that? I’m grateful for any help!
