Orvis Theme Help

Whenever I first load my website (on desktop using chrome), the image on the second row ends up overlapping with the image on the first row. Same thing happens on mobile. But once I refresh the page, it loads properly. Is there anything I can do to prevent it happening right from the start?

Hi there,
I’ve checked your site on my computer, and I am not seeing this issue. You can see what I see here:
Can you visit this page and let us know what you see for “Operating System” and “Web Browser”?
This will give us some extra troubleshooting info about your computer. Also do you have this same issue if you use a different browser on your computer? For example, if you normally use Firefox, what does your site look like in Google Chrome or Safari? Thanks for the additional info!

I clicked on the link. Operating system shows “Unknown” (but I’m on macOS Big Sur v11.0.1) and Web Browser says “Chrome 87.0.4280.88”.
I tried it on Safari, same issue: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1A1B_yGViL7zigpNM5eZBWYSxU_gesmF4/view?usp=sharing
(Safari 14.0.1)I also tried it on Opera (Version:72.0.3815.400), but it loaded properly.

Hi there,
If you have any security or ad-blocking browser extensions disable them and try again. It’s known for such extensions to interfere with how a page is rendered.

That’s weird – I do not have any security or ad-blocking extensions on both Chrome and Safari, but I have ad-blockers turned on on Opera.

Hi there,
I can see the issue on my end, and this is actually a known bug with this theme, related to the image lazy loading feature we offer.
Normally when you load a website in your browser, all the content has to load before you can see the page. Lazy loading is a process where the site does not wait for images not immediately visible on the screen, or below the fold, but instead those load in the background after the rest of the page is already visible. On a post/page with lots of images, this can significantly speed up load times.
There is no way to disable this feature on WordPress.com sites, so I’m afraid there’s no workaround I can offer. But I’ve added your case to the bug report for this. Hopefully our developers are able to fix it.
