Orvis Theme – notifying your followers when a new photo is uploaded

    Does anyone know how to notify your blog followers on the Orvis theme when you upload a new photo? It would be a shame if users are only notified for when a new blog post is uploaded, especially as it is a portfolio theme.

    Hi,

    You might try newsletters. I agree that it would be nice to be able to notify followers of new work without having to publish a post each time. Most of my site is in pages, so there is no automatic notification. After publishing few posts for several years I eventually began using short posts to announce each new page. Occasionally I’ll sometimes also publish a summary post that might include some or all of the following:

    • new pages published during the current or previous month
    • previously published pages that I’ve recently revised or otherwise updated
    • other information regarding recent work on the site
    • information regarding site organization and navigation

      • On the site itself you may announce new work in a menu, widget area, custom header image, tagline, etc.
