o's above my sharing buttons

I believe my problem is the same as was described in this topic 3 years ago https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/os-above-my-sharing-buttons : I see “o” above my sharing buttons or colliding with them (depending on the option for Button Style I choose). I currently use Contempt theme.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

P.S. Themes are retired when they no longer support all WordPress features. Contempt is a retired theme that’s not available on newly registered blogs. You may want to chose a newer theme http://theme.wordpress.com/retired/contempt/

It looks like that theme was never optimized to take into account the sharing features, which are relatively new to WordPress.com. This isn’t something we’ll be fixing, so
instead you might take a look at the current free themes we offer specifically for blogs:

If you change your theme, all of your blog content will remain intact but you may need to tweak some settings and restore your widgets. If you need assistance with that, please let me know.

I figured out it was the case once I read the member’s response below and started looking into new themes.

    Thank you for your help!

I’m not sure if I need to open a new topic or send a formal request so I’m sorry if I’m doing it at the wrong spot.

Since the old theme is retired, I’ve moved my site to a new theme. Everything works the way it used to with the only problem: it seems like now I can have a blog name (Undina’s Looking Glass) assigned to my blog only if I show it on the top of the page, above the picture. In the previous version I used to have an option of setting both the name and the tagline but NOT showing them on the page.

The problem it creates is that now when I removed the name the feed comes from a generic WordPress.com instead of my blog. And, I suspect, it’ll effect how my posts show in SEs.

Is there still a way of having the blog name but not showing it on the page or did that option go away with the old theme and there’s nothing I can do about it?

If you remove the site title form this page > Settings > General you may have difficulty getting you content indexed because that’s where search spiders are programmed to look for it.

timethief, I understand the implications – that’s why I’m worried. It’s just that in my old theme/settings there was an option to set the name but not to show it as the first line on the page (that’s why I had my blog’s name as a part of the picture). Now it seems like those two places are connected so that the only way of having the blog name is to show it where the template puts it. I’m just trying to confirm that this is the case before I start thinking what to do.

Most themes should allow you to toggle whether or not to display your site title under Appearance > Header. It looks like Misty Lake is not one of them.
