Other blogs that copy my blog/post entries

    I only registered here yesterday, I lost my previous account login details and was unable to retrieve them because the password recovery process is still sent to a now defunct email address. Anyway my new blog is much different now.

    I noticed a lot of spam messages that got stopped by wordpress admin section but did not relise it was actually other blogs that had taken my posts / blog entries and posted them on their own blog.

    Why would they do this? Is it to promote traffic or just that they find my blog entries of use? I can’t be sure either way but I see it a bit like acting like some malicious bot that may be doing this automatically.

    I guess what they are doing could also be classed as perfectly legitimate, I don’t mind at all but just like to hear from others if they usually get their blog entries archived or posted elsewhere so soon.

    Those sites are called sploggers. There’s an existing thread a few down from this one, located at: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=29547

    Those sites exist to copy other peoples entries and just put ads there. They hope to make money out of just spamming content everywhere on the internet and making a few cents.

    Theres some ideas what you can do listed in that other thread.

    Yeah, I’ve heard of splogges. They pretty much try to use your stuff to make a bit of spam and promote their own shit. There’s not too much you can do about it though. I think one of the best things you can do is try to visit places like Digitalfuntown.com. They really helped me with my problem.
