Create posts > To create a new post, go to Posts > Add New from the dashboard or use the New Post link in the gray admin bar shown at the top of WordPress.com pages while you are logged in http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/
In a blog there is only a single page that you can “post to” so to speak. It will display your most recent post on top in reverse chronological order (the same posts will also be displayed on the Archives and Categories pages). If you wish you can change that from your Front page of your blog to another static that you create first and then make the change here. > Settings > Reading
Front page displays
__Your latest posts
__A static page (select below)* Front page: select
* Posts page: select -

The differences between static Pages for content that rarely if ever changes and Posts are substantial. Static Pages cannot be assigned categories and tags and they lack Google juice. They can only be altered by editing.
Posts can be assigned categories and tags and have far, far more Google juice. See and read carefully so you understand the differences > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
If you don’t care about backlinks, authority, Google juice and PageRank then you can create a Page structured blog. If you do care about the foregoing then you won’t do that. You will use conventional blog posts based structure instead and that means static Pages will be for content that rarely, if ever, changes.

But you can turn your page tabs into links to post categories – see here:
