other people's sites linked to my email address

  Lately I’ve been receiving a TON of email re: other people’s wordpress sites. It appears wordpress does not require verification of people’s email addresses (which it ought to IMO), and apparently a bunch of sites have mistakenly set my email address as their own.

  Is there any way to unlink these sites from my email so I don’t receive their correspondence? Thanks
