Other site’s rss on page
-
How do I get the rss from another website onto a special page on my wordpress blog? such as:
-
you can’t put rss feeds on a page, but you can put it in your sidebar using the rss widget.
-
I was just wondering the same. I know and use the widget, but I was wondering if there is a workaround or something to have an RSS feed on a page?
-
no way to do it on a page that i know of. I guess it would be too easy to scrape someone else’s content and put it on your blog.
-
For further information, I just heard back from support about this and there is no way to do it. Ah well.
Thanks Judy and Mark. :)
-
The way I understand it is that none of the widgets can be placed on pages. They can only be placed in sidebars.
-
Yeah, I guess I was just hoping for some workaround, something like engtech’s tag cloud which also works on pages…
-
Hi carocat,
Engtech’s tag cloud is actually a “category” cloud.

Used to be called a tag cloud though. “Created by WordPress.com Tag Cloud Generator by //engtech” ;)
It’ll take me a while to get used to the fact tags are now categories and there are new tags!

sub-tags (pointing into Global Sub-Tags) are due 2009.
next year ‘manageable enough(tm)’ tags.
manageable enough(tm) means you still won’t be able to see a list of all the tags you have used (as per FAQ) but it’ll be possible to hide (not remove — this is due 2008) certain tags from the ‘Tag Cloud’ widget based on hexadecimal Tag-Id.
in the 2015 greatly enhanced sophisticated algorithm will finally arrives that if there’s no posts referencing particular tags left, then such tags are not to be displayed in the ‘Tag Cloud’ widget leading into 404.
