Our page Haukkalansaatio.com expired! The site is for a child well-being foundation in central FInland. We have a conference coming and the pages should be working ASAP. I am the secretary for the Foundation and should have been able to renew it but was not. I did not even get any e–mails warning about the expiry day. We had a student who made the pages and now he is not available anymore. He must have forgotten to do something because we are not marked as owners of the webpage! We would need to get the pages working again very soon and the yearly invoices should go to our accounting company.

Please contact me ASAP: (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    Hi there,

Unfortunately there isn’t much that we can do at this point. The owner of a domain is the person who bought the domain, and it is currently in a different account from the one which you are writing in from. You may want to reach out directly to that student and see if they are willing to have the domain transferred to you. If so, we will just need to contact them to get their permission and we can move it. At that point you will have full control over the domain.

Without that however, the domain cannot be renewed. There are a couple of options: You could purchase a related domain, such as the .net or .org version (.org being recognized world-wide as the domain extension for non-profit organizations). Or you could also allow this domain to expire and once it has re-register it yourself. This process takes between 60 and 80 days.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience this may cause. I wish I had better news for you!
