our site suddenly stopped directing to the right place
-
The website for my company is directing to
threebabesbakeshop.wordpress.com when it should go directly to
threebabesbakeshop.com.When we launched our business, we set up
threebabesbakeshop.wordpress.cothen, we switched our hosting to media
temple and just had threebabesbakeshop.com. We also had a gmail
account set up to (email visible only to moderators and staff)As of monday or tuesday, when i go to threebabesbakeshop.com it
somehow redirects to our old site threebabesbakeshop.wordpress.com and
while i can access (email visible only to moderators and staff) through gmail, i can
not send or receive any mail, so i’m assuming it’s a hosting problem. It has been two years since we launched the site, so i’m
thinking perhaps we purchased 2 years worth of service and that has
run out or something? As of now, I can log into our company’s email account but can’t
send or receive any mail. Also, I can no longer log on to
threebabesbakeshop.com with my username.I contacted MediaTemple, and they said we need to change the Name server from:
Name Server: NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
Name Server: NS2.WORDPRESS.COMto
ns1.mediatemple.net, ns2.mediatemple.net.
I contacted the site that sold us the domain, but they referred us to wordpress for help and i can’t call in. please help!
I have no way to type in the real name of my website, as i can no longer log into my site, and my site itself redirects to threebabesbakeshop.wordpress.com
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your name servers point to WordPress.COM not your regular host. The information is a bit mixed – one place says the domain is OK the other says the domain name registration has expired and needs to be renewed.
You need to double check the status of your domain registration – you are registered here
If the domain has been expired for too long you will need staff help to renew it
As the ORIGINAL account that registered your domain name log in and go to
Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades and see if the registration needs to be renewed.
Once the domain name is renewed you can change the name servers back to your regular host using these directions
I have also flagged this for staff attention in case you have trouble

Thank you for replying!
I’m assuming that the original account that registered my domain name is my former business partner, who quit our company after a few months. She was deleted as an administrator, but now I have no way to log in as her, and I can’t log in as myself, as my own username/password (via the business’s email) no longer allow me to log in, probably because the company email is now disabled. Is there a way to update the registration if I can’t log in?
Thanks!

@lenoreestrada: the domain expired on March 30, 2013. Domains are renewed on an annual basis and the domain was renewed successfully last year.
The domain can still be renewed, but only with the user account that originally purchased the domain. If you’re logged into your WordPress.com account and don’t see the domain upgrade and a “renew now” button under Store -> My Upgrades, then it means that someone else had originally bought the domain and they will need to login and process the renewal.
Once the renewal has processed, you can set the primary domain back to your custom domain by going to Store -> Domains and updating your primary domain.
I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for replying. I can’t log into my account – my username is now disabled. I believe last year I renewed before it expired, so I was able to log in. The account I am using right now to log in is my personal account. I’m not sure what to do here. The person who originally registered the account is no longer with our company and has been removed as an administrator, but I can not log in with her personal account (the one I believe she used to register), nor with the username/password I’ve always used to sign in with our business account.

This is a tough one – the person that registered the domain is an ex-pardner – the email is crashed because the mapping has expired so they might not even have the fake the ID with the email account
@lenoreestrada – are you on good enough terms with your old pardner to find out if they used a company email or personal email etc?
-
@lenoreestrada – yes, @auxclass is correct; we need to have the owner of the blog contact us regarding the domain renewal. Without their authorization, there’s nothing we can do to either transfer ownership or process the renewal.
Also, I think you’re confusing the login you use for your self-hosted website with your WordPress.com login. The owner of threebabesbakeshop.wordpress.com could not be removed without transferring ownership to someone else, so their account is still active on WordPress.com. Any login access for the self-hosted site at threebabesbakeshop.com is separate from WordPress.com.
The page you would access to renew the domain is here:
https://threebabesbakeshop.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgradesAs I stated before, the person who purchased the domain originally would need to be the person logged in to renew the domain.

the person who registered for the blog no longer is with the company. the company should be the owner of the blog. I can still log in to threebabesbakeshop.wordpress.com and to our mediatemple account, but I can no longer log into threebabesbakeshop.com. When I go to threebabesbakeshop.com it automatically redirects to threebabesbakeshop.wordpress.com. my former business partner registered for the site originally and set up the site but quit our company after a few months. how do i renew if she is unresponsive?
-
also, if i click on the link, i’m told that the page i’m trying to access doesn’t exist. sorry this is so difficult!
-
ok, from my former partner:
Hey, yeah no problem…I was wondering if the notices I was getting were important or not. How do you want to get me the info & is there a way I can permanently transfer it to you?
How does she transfer ownership to me?

Could the blog ownership have been transferred without the domain name registration also being transferred? That would leave the domain registration at the old account –
Is it possible for you to look at the owner of the domain name and maybe point the OP in the correct direction? – I know there are privacy policies that limit what you can give out,
-
First she needs to renew the registration
Then the registration can be transferred to you from the same screen that she renewed the registration at

Hi guys,
So I think I am confusing my wordpress login for http://www.threebabesbakeshop.wordpress.com with threebabesbakeshop.com. I can log in to http://www.threebabesbakeshop.wordpress.com but I can’t access threebabesbakeshop.com. The email is now working fine. My former partner renewed the registration successfully. What do I do next to get my site back online?
Thank you!

What do I do next to get my site back online?
Take a walk and have a Latte – I am serious – your name servers are set back to MEDIATEMPLE.NET correctly – but changes can take 24 to72 hours for changes to reach the far corners of the internet – changes usually start in a few hours – I just looked at whatsmydns and the spread is well underway

How does she transfer ownership to me?
Your former partner needs to login to WordPress.com (NOT your self-hosted site) and have her contact us either in this thread or using this form to verify the transfer and we will take care of it:
