Our some URLs ending in: embed
-
Recently, my GSC shows some URLs ending in: embed/, they are list on Excluded by “noindex” tag. These URLs with embed/ can be opened, and you can click “read more” to jump to the correct URL. But it can not be indexed by Google. How should I correct them? By the way, I haven’t added any plugins to my site recently.

Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out with your question.
Since your site, renkeer.com, is hosted on WordPress.org, this issue falls outside the scope of our usual support. For further assistance, you can reach out to your hosting provider or ask for support in the WordPress.org forums.
That said, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue with the /embed/ URLs being excluded by the “noindex” tag in Google Search Console:
- Check Robots.txt and Noindex Tags:
- Verify that your robots.txt file is not disallowing the /embed/ URLs. You can check this by navigating to yourdomain.com/robots.txt.
- Ensure there are no noindex tags on these pages. You can check this by viewing the page source (right-click on the page and select “View Page Source”) and searching for
<meta name="robots" content="noindex">. If these tags are present, you’ll need to remove them.
Yoast SEO Plugin Settings:
- If you’re using the Yoast SEO plugin, it might be automatically adding noindex tags to certain types of content. Go to SEO > Search Appearance and review the settings for media, content types, and taxonomies to ensure they are set to be indexed.
Update .htaccess:
- Sometimes, updating your .htaccess file can help with issues related to URL indexing. Ensure that there are no rules in your .htaccess file that might be affecting the /embed/ URLs.
Review Theme and Plugin Code:
- Since you haven’t added any new plugins recently, check your theme files and existing plugins for any custom code that might be adding the noindex tag to the /embed/ URLs.
Submit URLs to Google:
- Once you’ve made the necessary changes, you can manually submit the affected URLs to Google for reindexing using Google Search Console. Go to URL Inspection in Search Console, enter the URL, and click “Request Indexing.”
