Out-Clicks to links not on my blog
-
Everyone once and a while, my stats show a list of different out clicks from my blog to other WordPress.com blogs. The links do not appear anywhere on my blog. I have ‘Hide related postes’ deactivated and have from the very beginning. How and why are these links showing up on my blog? And better still, how do I keep it from happening?
Thanks!

The blog you specified at http://www.aliceblackandwhite.com does not appear to be hosted at WordPress.com.
This support forum is for WordPress.com hosted blogs only. If you have a self-hosted WordPress blog you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums, not here.
If you don’t understand the difference, you may find this information helpful.

@sambauers: I have two separate blogs, WP.com and WP.org. The one in question is a WP.com blog located at:
aliceblackandwhite.wordpress.com
This is the blog that is receiving out-clicks to links not posted or authorized by me.

Your username is linked to a non-wp.com blog. Sam’s response is an autoresponder to posts started by users whose wordpress.com blog is not the one listed in the “new topic” form. It’s a way to help the forum volunteers cope with the number of WordPress.ORG users who accidently post here.
About your question, unfortunately, I don’t have an answer for you. :/

@justjennifer: Thanks! I wondered whether the original response was auto-generated. Thanks for your help!

The links are, in all likelihood, showing up on the Adsense that WP.com occasionally runs on our blogs.

Why would Adsense ads be linking to WP.com blogs? Sounds more like a related posts thing.

That is how wp.com makes money!

@1tess-Adsense runs ads on WordPress.com that point to other WordPress.com blogs?
-
Could do. There’s nothing in the TOS preventing people from buying ads that link to their blogs.

Aye, no free lunch.
I have a coworker who buys those “pies” from McDonalds. You can only buy them 2 for $1 so she foists the second one off on us. She wants one, and someone else is the lucky winner of 8,000 calories/20 terrybiters of sodium.
And except for her watching us eat them, she is a really shy woman.
