out of date email

    I need to update my email from an old aol.com address to a my more recent gmail address, but I’m getting a message that the gmail address is already in use. I don’t know what I’ve done wrong.

    Hi there!

    If you see the message that the email is already in use it means that you have another WordPress.com account created with that address.
    You can access that account (if you don’t remember the password, reset it from https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword) and change the email address to something else. Then, log back to the correct account and change the email to the Gmail one. You can then delete the unwanted account.

    If that doesn’t work for some reason, let us know the address you want to use – just type it in its own line and it will be hidden from everyone on the forum except the WordPress.com staff.
