out spoken theme – want to buy it BUT
-
Hello,
I’d really like to use wordpress.com, since I had good experience with it. I want to purchase the outspoken theme BUT want to use its new look.
Is there any way to do so? I couldn’t ask it in the outspoken’s support forum since I didn’t buy it yet. Please help me with that as soon as possible
thanks

The only version of the Outspoken theme that can be purchased through wordpress.COM, and is licensed for use only on WordPress.COM hosted blogs, is featured here on its detailed theme description page https://wordpress.com/themes/outspoken
The live demo site link is here https://outspokendemo.wordpress.com/
The theme specific support doc is here https://wordpress.com/themes/outspoken/support/If you are focused on any other version of that theme then know WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Could you explain more what you mean by “its new look” and I’ll try to find out for you from the theme’s developer? Timethief is spot on in that the version of the theme available here on WordPress.com is the one you see on the demo and outlined on the showcase/support pages, but if there’s something specific you’re wondering about I can try to find out for you.

Hi kathrynwp,
here is the new look of outspoken: http://outspoken.wpshower.com/
It is only a bit different from the one I see in wordpress.com theme list.
I think one of the main difference between these looks is the font, Helvetica vs. Verdana. Also the font’s colours and sizes. And probably more. So maybe, for start, I would like to change the fonts and typography, do you know if its possible? And also, what if I purchase the advance plane, will I be able to move to the new look by coding in the css? Could the Outspoken’s team pass the changes?
I’d appreciate your advice as soon as possible.
Please don’t send me to wordpress.org…Thanks

You can make font changes that on any theme here https://wordpress.com/themes/ on any wordpress.COM hosted blog by purchasing a premium bundle that contains the CSS editing upgrade.
See here for details on purchasing the annually renewable Premium bundle http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/ that contains a custom design upgrade required for CSS editing:

It looks like the self-hosted version of Outspoken uses Source Sans Pro for headings and body text.
Here on WordPress.com we do offer Source Sans Pro as one of the free Google Fonts anyone can use. Just go into your Customizer’s Fonts panel and you can select it from the menus for both Headings and Base font. This feature is available in any theme, with no upgrade required.
You can also choose a few other typographic variations – such as bold for headings – and five different size options.
And also, what if I purchase the advance plane, will I be able to move to the new look by coding in the css? Could the Outspoken’s team pass the changes?
If you purchase the Premium or Business plan, you will have access to an additional set of fonts from Typekit, as well as the ability to add custom CSS. You could get CSS Customization help in the CSS forum.
Let me know if that answers all your questions.
